Born in London, England on September 12, 1972, Jason Statham has an impressive resume, only part of which revolves around acting. In his late teens, he became an Olympic-caliber diver, joining the British National Diving Team and finishing 12th at the World Championships in 1992.

After a stint as a black market salesman (yes, you read correctly), the svelte Statham began working as a fashion model. Among his modeling credits is a contract with French Connection; it was through this clothing company that he received his first audition and got the role of Bacon in Guy Ritchie's film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

After the success of the 1998 film, Statham discovered that this new career could be very challenging and exciting. He returned to the big screen two years later for Ritchie's Snatch., after which he showed up in the rap film Turn it Up and the sci-fi horror flick Ghosts of Mars. Statham continued his streak in The One with Jet Li and, most notably, took the lead role in the 2002 action flick The Transporter.

In 2003, Statham cemented his reputation in Hollywood with his role in The Italian Job. The following year, he appeared briefly in Cellular and Collateral, but only truly returned to the spotlight in 2005 with Transporter 2. Statham then worked with Guy Ritchie once again in The Revolver, and his upcoming projects include The Pink Panther, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Crank.
